At around 2.30 p.m. on 2 April 2011 two police officers arrested the applicant, who attended an opposition demonstration held in Baku and took him to the Sabail district police office.

By a judgment of 24 July 2017, the Sabail District Court sentenced the applicant to three years and three months’ imprisonment for tax evasion and incitement to ethnic, racial, social or religious hatred

On the same day by a decision of the Sabail District Court he was found guilty of that offence and sentenced to a month of administrative detention.

On 12 May 2007 the Sabail District Court extended the applicant’s detention until 3 August 2007.
