    The applicants complained that their right to a fair hearing had been breached on account of the domestic courts’ refusal of their requests to appear in court.

As to the second report, it was not adduced as evidence until 3 April 2006, the day of the hearing, at the end of which the first-instance court gave judgment.

The first-instance court therefore appointed a State-funded lawyer as his counsel and continued the hearing. 7.

    The applicants maintained that their right to a fair hearing by a   tribunal had been breached.

The public had been excluded from the trial court hearings for unclear reasons. 6.

In the minutes of the hearing it was indicated that despite being duly notified, the applicant had not requested to participate in the hearing. 6.

As regards the judicial review proceedings, the Government noted that it was open to the applicant to request a hearing in camera and that the recordings had not been played at the hearing, only a transcript

    The High Court of Cassation and Justice held two hearings.

According to the record of the relevant hearing, the District Court examined the application submitted by the NSS from 9.20 a.m. to 9.40 a.m. 19 .
